about

The Rhythm Express return with a classic homage to New Orleans’s great Allen Toussaint “Hercules.” Originally recorded with the sweet voice of Aaron Neville and the Meters rhythm section in 1973, Toronto’s Rhythm Express goes a step further incorporating reggae styling’s – both keyboards and guitar. Hercules tells the story of a street-wise kid trying to steer clear of trouble. He tells himself over and over again “I must be Hercules.” He needs to survive the daily grind; the pimps and drug lords.
